President's Message

Every nature lover will testify to the sublime and mystical encounter with Mother Nature. The sheer beauty of a mountain scene, the power of the crushing ocean waves, the morning dewdrops on the petals of a rose, the mellow rays of the October sun, the peace and grandeur of a full moon on a cloudless evening, the knowing eyes of a Labrador on your knees… they all connect us to His awesome presence. We become one with Nature and with God. Such will be the force within us to preserve Nature in all of its glory, a calling which is special to women.

As a woman is blest to be a co-creator with God by being a mother so she becomes a nature’s nurturer. If we want Nature preserved for the future, let mothers shower their children with unconditional love, kindness, trust, and the sense of responsibility for others. Then she would have taught future inhabitants of the earth, men and women, to live in harmony with each other and for each other and with Nature and for Nature.

This year onwards let us be open to the delights of Mother Nature. Let us become more vigilant to her cry for help. Just as a mother intuitively knows when her child is in danger, sad or perplexed, may we become more sensitive to Mother Nature’s needs and so vigorously nourish, protect, and preserve her who does the same for us. From this day on, let us take notice of her cry in the diminishing forests and concomitant flooding, in the polluted rivers and oceans, in the eroded mountains, in the rapidly melting icebergs and ice caps, and in the traumatized and declining wildlife. These are just a few. And it all begins in the heart of a woman.

“Women preserving Mother Nature for the future.” Our year’s theme, let it be everyone’s goal!

To all our kababayan and friends, once again PCCI in her own little way joins the rest of the world in responding to the call for peace, harmony and comfort for all. PCCI humbly acknowledges all her supporters who despite these tough times have generously shared a portion of their time, talent and treasure; and most especially to this year’s hardworking Lead fundraisers. To our four lovely women whose infectious energy, enthusiasm and commitment made this event possible. I salute you all!

Maraming salamat po. May God bless us all.

Sincerely,
Zayda Yadao
PCCI President
